My skin care routine and review on the products.

Hello again, lovers! I got requests asking about my skin care routine, which surprises me because I don't findmy skin that great. I mean I'm ok with it, but it could be better. In order for it to better at this age, I would have to work harder taking care of my skin and maintaining it. It doesn't mean you neccessarily have to empty your bank account to have beautiful skin. I think, like everything else that has to do with our physical appearance looking it's best, you just need to know basic science and anatomy of the body. Why? because we just need the basic and natural nourishment to improve and maintain whatever it is that we want to. For example, for skin hair and nails, find out what would you need to get it to be at it's best condition.

We know physical activities, and a balanced and proper diet will make our bodies healthy and attractive. We know dry skin causes wrinkles, so that means we need to keep it hydrated with moisturizer. We know makeup and other impurities will clog pores and cause our skin to break out, so we need a good deep cleanser to wash it away. In my opinion, it starts from the inside. Eat right and drink plenty of water and excercise will make your skin glow and healthy, same as with your hair and nails and body. Then you wouldn't have dry skin or wrinkles, or brittle weak nails and excess fat in your body. Which would mean, now you have to use products with certain ingredients to fix these problems that you could have prevented by taking better care of yourself to begin with.

I know, nobody is perfect and not many of us like healthy foods or remember what is really good or what is bad for us. Some of us are always on the go and some of us fall into the junk food temptation ect. I think I have bored you long enough about my basic science of looking our best, naturally. Not everything goes as plan and no one is perfect or flawless and for some it could be just genetics. So that's why some of us need to use product to look our best! Back to the point of the request for my skincare routine. These are my routine so I do not expect anyone to follow it or agree with what I use. For the best skin care for you, you need to know your skin type! I know mine and below are pictures, description and my reviews of what I use for my daily skin care.

Morning skincare routine:

Step 1: I wet my face, then I wash it with dove soap or St. Ives apricot scrub with exfoliating beads. I usually wash with Dove 4 days a week, and St. Ives apricot Scrub 3 days a week, but not in a row. I use the Scrub every 2nd day. I've use the Dove soap since I was young and have always loved it. It takes off my makeup, yet it's gentle and doesn't make my skin feel dry. Many "experts" will tell you that washing your face with soap is very bad., because it strips your skin of all the oil. Therefore causing it feel tight and really dry. Well, I say that's if you wash your face with hand/body soap or detergent soap! Dove makes some for face and some dermotologist suggested that Dove should be the only soap bar you can use to cleanse your face with.
Now for St. Ives Apricot scrub is great for exfoliating. It's inexpensive and contains the right tiny grains/beads that removes the top layer of dead skin cells, which is the cause for dull looking skin.

Step 2: For my daily moisturizer, I use Aveen positively radiant moisturizer with SPF 30. I like it because it's non greasy and smells great. Also, it contains soy and light diffuser to even out skin tone and texture. So, not only does it moisturize well, it also works at correcting your skin tone and texture. If I'm going to be directly in the sun at the beach or anywhere outdoors spending long hours doing activities, I love to use my Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 55! It's ultra light, fast absorbing and leaves a non oily finish while providing a  broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection! It's waterproof, sweatproof, rubproof and won't clog poors. For me, sometimes I don't use a moisturizer before applying this sunblock. I just go straight with applying the sunblock because on my skin, it acts as a moisturizer also! It's enriched with vitamin A,C,E. I have used this for 5 years and I love it and must always have it!

Step 3: Once a week, I use RENEW YOU anti-aging callogen face mask. The mask contains the main ingredients yarrow roots, pelvetiane and green tea. I'm not quite sure what yarrow roots is, but it is described as a skin firming agent. The green tea protects skin from oxidative damage so skin appears tighter and firmer. The pelvetiane smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and it restores moisture levels to hydrate skin. The collagen production increases to protect and support soft skin tissue.

I like it, but as for results of what it claims to do, I haven't seen a drastic difference yet. I like that you just apply a small amount all over face and leave it as long as you like, because it doesn't get hard or peel off  so there's no waiting around for it to do it's thing. You can just wipe it off with a warm wet towel or cloth.

$1.99

After cleansing and moisturizing/sun protection, I just apply face primer and do my makeup routine and that is it for my daytime skin care.

Night skincare routine:

Step 1: For cleansing, I do the same things as my morning cleanser routine. See my morning skincare routine above for details.

Step 2: After cleansing my face, I appy Olay Definity Restorative Sleep Cream all over my face and neck. Although it looks thick and creamy but it feels light. Feels like gel except it's not sticky. I love that a little bit goes a long way. It will last me for awhile. It's very moisturinsing but not greasy. It helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and also dimish brown spots. The cream goes on very smoothly, and my god I love the fragrance! It keeps you moisturized and hydrated throughout the whole night and the next morning you wake up feeling hydrated, smooth and fresh and ready to go!

$29.99
Step 3: On top of my night cream I apply Olay Revitalizing eye gel. This moisturizing  eye gel contains ingredients that smoothes wrinkles and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth, therefore it reduces the appearance of aging and wrinkles near your eyes. The wide series of elements in the moisturizers infuse the delicate tissues  with vital moisture. We all know moist and hydrated skin prevents wrinkles! I love it. It's not sticky and glides on nicely and light. You only need a tiny bit and it goes a long way.

$12.99
That is it ladies and gentlemen, my skin care routine. It's quite simple and simple is better. I don't believe you need many expensive products to have nice skin. Just remember, first know your skin type. Then find a good cleanser for your skin type, followed by a good moisturizer and most importantly sunscreen! Once a week you should exfoliate and use a deep mask, but that shouldn't cost much or be too much work because you not doing that everyday. Oh and if I am too tired or lazy after coming home from a late night out, I still make sure to remove makeup from my face with my favorite makeup remover or cleansing face wipes/cloths! You should never go to sleep with makeup on. This will clog your pores and cause you to break out and besides, you don't want to stain your clothes, pillows or bed sheets!

My favorite face wipes:

1.Marcelle Essentials Face cleansing cloths -I love this one because it is so gentle but yet it  does a wonderful job removing makeup, oil and everything on off face without making my face feel tight and dry! It's hypo-allergenic, perfume free, oil free and alcohol free. It's thick, soft and generously sized. These wipes are safe for sensitive eyes and for those who wears contact lenses. The price is $10.99 but worth the money!

2.Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes-This is also a great cleansing cloth and makeup remover, even for eye makeup. It's almost as good as the Marcelle towelettes, but the material isn't as soft. It's still one of my favorite because it does the job and leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. It is also at a great price from about $6-7! Cheaper than the MarcelleTowellettes.

3. Neutrogena Deep Clean Oil Free Makeup Remover-These works well like most Neutrogena wipes, they get deep into my skin and take away all the makeup, oil, and dirt from my face. It leave my skin feeling tingly and cool, if you have sensitive skin it might feel irritating or sting. But I like the cool and fresh feeling, it is just  abit dry so I have to apply night cream or moisturizer after. I think this would be great for oily skin! I still like it alot. Plus it's at a great price! $6-7.
You can find any of my skin care routine items at most department store or drugstore.

  1. My mum has good skin. So I just briefly took one of her SKII (http://www.geocities.jp/hongkong_skii/index_e.htm) to use, which I assume is a moisturizer. It's good man I tell you! She gave me a small bottle of eye cream before but the effects weren't that great and I stopped using. But my mum's moisturizer is good! I can feel it reacting once I applied it
